The DPR to save Balat from erosion was prepare by INFYCON, Bangalore

Shillong, August 07:  Water Resources Department has taken step to prevent erosion for the  Village of Balat in South West Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya. The department has entrust the work to prepare the Detail Project Report (DPR to the consultant  from Bangalore know as INFYCON private Limited.

Balat is one of the  famous village at the International border with Bangladesh but due to the erosion taken place every year from the River Umngi many people from these village had flet the area and settle in the near by village like Dangngar in East Khasi Hills and Laitumsaw Village.

The Local MLA of the area has taken incentive before the government of Meghalaya created the Department to talk to the central government has to protect the village from further erosion so that people who settle in the village will not be displace.

The ministry of water resources from the government of India has  sent it’s official to visit the area so that they can have their firsthand knowledge about the  damage causes from the flood that taken place every year on the river.

The Principal Secretary RM Minshra told SP News Agency that the department has entrust the work to the INFYCOn company Pvt Limited to prepare the DRP and hopefully will be completed by the year end. After they got the DPR the department will move to the government of India for sanction so that permanent solution in this river Umiam will be done. (SP News)
