Shillong, August 18: The Director General of Prison Mr Prem Singh said that today the department has taken action on thus worker in the Tura Jail were two employees were suspended and one casual worker was terminated from service.
The DGP Told SP News Agency that the department will institute an inquiry that led to the Tura Jail break. When asked who were these two persons were suspended he said at this moment will not be able to tell, but the person who was terminated is not a full time worker.
The commander of the GNLA, Kennedy T Sangma who was lodged in Tura jail has been booked under Meghalaya Prevention of Disruptive Activities (MPDA) Act. He was shifted to Tura jail on the month of May this year.
The last jail break that took place in Tura Jail was in 2009. It was surprising that the Jail was through out the clock monitor by the sentry from high tower and how this happen. The fall out from this Tura jail break the department has suspended two employee and one casual worker. (SP News)
