Shillong, May 06: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) in a surprise visit that they have made to the Community Health Centre at Ichamati whih run by the non government organization, the Citizen Foundation found that the doctors from the CHC have issued random birth certificate to people with out verified about their identity.
The Southern Zone of the FKJGP B Ryngnga said that one Dr M Kar who is in charge of the CHC issued birth Certificate at his own sweet will with out following the procedure that applicant has to produce certain document.
The FKJGP also alleged that even the Civil Sub Division officer of Sohra has given in written that birth certificate should be issued to all thus who has come to asked for.
Mr Ryngnga said that if this type of attitude is done in issued of birth certificate is a grave concern for them since Ichamati CHC is situated near the International border where there is a likely hood that people from crossed might get the Birth Certificate from India.
The FKJGP requested the local headman the local MLA and NDC of the area to see that in the process of Issuing Birth Certificate people from crossed the border the Bangladeshi will not get the Birth Certificate. (SP News)
