Shillong, Jan 02: The opposition in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC today met the governor of Meghalaya Dr K K Paul to inquired about the delimitation bill pass by the KHADC last month.
The Working President of the KHNAM Mr Adelbert Nongrum tols SP News After the meng with the governor said that, the governor inform them that he is yet to receive the bill from the government.
Mr Nongrum said that they are not against the delimitation but they are against the abolishment of the existing Laitkroh MDC constituency, the governor told them in the meeting that if he receives the bill he will examine.
The KHADC in the proposed amendment to the sixth Schedule has recommended to the government of India for the creation of twenty more MDC Constituency, the question of abolition of Laitkroh constituency cannot be accepted, said Mr Nongrum.(SP News)
