Shillong, Oct 01: The Hynniewtrep Achick National Movement (HANM) today has announce that they have call of their propose demonstration schedule on the 3rd in front of the Secretariat since their leaders was released today.
The two leaders that was detain by the police are the President of the HANM Lamphrang Kharbani, Alban Gashnga. The police has pick up HANM leaders from Mawkasiang and after interrogation 17 members were released and three were detain. Only the president of the West Khasi Hills District is still in the police costody.
Following their arrest the HANM has threaten to demonstrate in front of the main secretariat on the third of this month if their leaders were not released with 48 hours. Since the government has released them today the proposed demonstration was call off.(SP News)
