The HNLC call 12 hours band on the on the 23 December

Shillong, Dec 19: The central command of the HNLC in its emergent meeting held on the 18th of december has expressed resentment over the blind arrests made by the Police department,in which many youths are lodged inside the jail due to false implications against them.

Many youths are being blamed for causing damages to government properties. Their Families are being impacted mental torture,as they have to run to the judiciary system for securing bail. Many of the youths belong to poor families and their parents and relatives are running from pillar to post to make monitory arrangements for engaging lawyers and securing bail.

Hundreds of NGO leaders are being hunted by the Police department. The NGOs had sought many democratic means to solve the ILP issue, But on the other hand the MUA government had turned a blind eye by putting aside its democratic character. People of Hynñiewtrep are about to being a festive season to celebrate Xmas, But what about the youths who are put up in Jail? Don’t they also deserve to be with their families during Xmas?  The Government had also imposed draconian laws such as the MPDA on several leaders, which also proves its step motherly attitude towards the youths.

They have been fighting for their genuine rights to protect the identity of the Hynñiewtrep people, but sad to say that they were treated as terrorists. And people who fight for the rights of the poor and the homeless are also not spared by this dictatorial character of government.Corrupt Ministers and government officials are swindlingcrores of money, but No Action is being taken against them, alleged the HNLC.

For the central Government the ONLY Criminals are the HNLC and leaders of NGOs.This kind of political planned targeting by the police department under the instruction of the congress govt will NOT be able to silence the masses. Very soon masses will come out in open to support the National cause of the HNLC and that will be a turning point toretaliate with this dictatorial type of government.

The HNLC in view of the above circumstances have decided to impose a dawn to dusk12hours bandh on the 23rd of December from 6am to 6pm. Emergency measures, Media and religious activities are exempted from the purview of the bandh. The Government Must Immediately And Unconditionally Release All thus who were detain with out any delay said  Saiñkupar Nongtraw Publicity Secretary, HNLC in his press statement.(SP News)
