The HNLC declared 36 hours bandh on coming Monday and Tuesday

Shillong, Oct 17: The band out fit the Hynniewtrep national Liberation Council (HNLC) has today in the press statement issued to media house sign by Sainkupar Nongtraw Publicity Secretary, said that they have call for a 36 hours bandh start from 6 am on the 21st and will en on the 22th at 6 pm.

The council would also remind to the  people of Hynniewtrep, That oct 21st is being observed as the 25th death Anniversary Of Syiem Wickliff the founder of Hynniewtrep Nationalism and  the band outfit term that the planned visit of the president of India Pranab Mukherjee is a political insult to the Hynniewtrep National Day.

The Hynniewtrep Kings and His Durbars Hima had never accepted nor agreed, they were very much opposed to signing the instrument of Accession and Anexed Agreement 1948 but were helpless at that point of time as, under duress and with Guns Pointed at them, they had no other way but to sign the same said the press statement of the HNLC.

As a mark of political protest against the two days visit of Pranab Mukherjee on the Hynniewtrep land, the council declares a 36 hours bandh in the entire Hynniewtrep
commencing from 6:00am of oct 21 To 6:00pm of october 22. During these hours, essential services, emergency measures, media and religious activities are exempted from the purview of the bandh.

The HNLC alleged that  issue of influx has always been diverted and neglected. For the last few decades the out fit have seen that the issue of influx, the boundary issue, the encroachment of land by security forces are not at all taken seriously by these so called ‘People representatives’. The political leaders are only there, to serve the
interests of its Party and not its People.

The HNLC since its inception has never had trust in the Government of  India n or the Indian political leadership. In the eve of raising day 14th August 2013 HNLC’s General Secretary had issued a statement expressing the willingness of the council to start up
unconditional talks with the central Government, but no response was shown. This step-motherly attitude of the government has in fact boomeranged and made our determination stronger day by day.

The confronting attitude of the state government in hunting for several NGOs leaders is a Shame, Shame on the Indian unconstitutional democratic system that is being boasted world wide. The Constitution has rather taken shape of an institution which is run
and governed by political, diplamatic and bureaucratic corrupts. The HNLC alleged that the Congress led government is in fact compelling more youths to take up arms and sort out for solution. said  Sainkupar Nongtraw Publicity Secretary,HNLC. (SP News)
