Shillong, April 26: The annual General Council of the Hills State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) today reaffirms the party stand for their demand of Khasi-Jaintia State.
The General Council has authorizes the newly elected office bearers of the party to re-draft the constitution of the party to keep pace with the change of time with out changing the basic aims and objective of the party stand.
The party today elected also their new officer bearer, the general council again elected Shri Hopingstone Lyngdoh MLA as the president, Shri Ardent Basaiawmoit MLA as Vice President and Shri Enbin K Raswai as the General Secretary and many others office bearers.
Addressing the general council the president of the party Shri Lyngdoh asked all the party workers to work hard in organizing the party in the entire Khasi and Jaintia Hills and spread the message that HSPDP is the only party who stand for the cause of the Khasi-Jaintia people.
Others who address the gathering, is the Vice President Shri Ardent Said that the aims and objective of the party could only achieve only when the party get the chance to rule the state. At present the people of Khasi and Jaintia has turn to the HSPDP as the main political party who could protect the identity of the indigenous tribal of the state Meghalaya.(SP News)
