The Indian Air Force will organised the “ Air Festival 2013”

Shillong, Octo 03: “Air Festival 2013” is being organised at the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG), Head Quarters Eastern Air Command (HQ EAC), Upper Shillong on 05 Oct 13 as part of the celebrations for the 81st anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The Air festival will start with a fly past by a formation of three front line fighter aircraft, namely the Sukhoi-30 MK I.  This will be followed by a breathtaking display of sky diving by the world famous Akash Ganga Team and a demonstration of daredevil acts by Garud personnel slithering down from a helicopter hovering above the ground.

There will also be an aero modelling show by personnel and cadets of Air Wing NCC, comprising of flight display of Remote Control and Control Line models as well as a display of static models.  In addition, there will be an Arms and Ammunition stall where visitors could avail of the opportunity to handle weapons and experience the sight through Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).  Food stalls have also been arranged, along with Arts and Handicrafts stalls selling merchandise from various states of India.

The festival will be open to the public at the ALG near 7th Mile, Upper Shillong, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. (SP News)
