Shillong, March 25: As per the direction of Election Commission of India, the Income tax Department is keeping close surveillance over movement of cash or other items suspected to be used for bribing of electors during the Parliamentary Election, 2014.
For this purpose, the Directorate of Income Tax (INV.) NER, Guwahati has opened a 24×7 Control Room and Complaint Monitoring Cell with a Toll Free Number – 18003453619.
Any information pertaining to movement of large amount of cash in any place of the North Eastern Region during election period may be communicated to the Complaint Monitory Cell in the above Toll Free number said the pib releases.(SP News)
