Shillong, July 26: The Jaintia Student Union has decided to call for a band of 22 hours starting on the 1th of Agust and it will en on the 2th. The Band was call to put pressure on the government of Meghalaya to set up the Blood Bank at Jowai for the benefit of the public.
Tolking to SP News Agency the president of the JSU said that they have been waiting for the state government to set up the Blood Bank at Jowai for many years and talk and discussion bear no fruit, it time that they have to wake up the government by taking this step of calling for a band.
The President also said that they have met the Local MLA Dr RC Laloo from time to time but nothing has happen, the JSU fill that they have been wasting time in meeting him and also talking to the government authority .
They have demanded for the Blood Bank at Jowai many years back and all end up in the promise. The People of Jaintia Hills need it very badly. When the blood bank is in Jowai many live will be save as of now patient has to wait for three four days till their relative come.
The worst thing is, when accident happens where patient needs immediate blood to save his live but due to the absence of the blood bank people are left to the mercy of the alimighty. The JSU, call upon the public, to support them and bear with them for the cause of the public.(SP News)
