Shillong, July 22: The Jaintia Youth Federation has seek information from the District Medical and Health officer of the East Jaintia Hills District through an Right to Information Act to know about the health condition of the people who reside around thus cement factory in Lumshong Area.
The JYF has taken this step because they have received many compliant from the public that the safety norm measure for the health of the people was not taken due to large emission of smoke for cement factories in that area. The JYF want to know from the state government official about the health condition of the people from the area.
The JYF has asked the question who will protect the life of the people in that area, is the Elaka, Cement factory, Meghalaya State Pollution control board, forest department or the Government.(SP News)
