Shillong, Nov 04: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council today after deliberation on the Khasi Hills Autonomous District council (Village Administration) Bills 2013, decided to sent the bill to the select committee for further examination.
The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the KHADC Mr Pynshngian Syriem in his speech said that there is a need to have this bill for proper administration at the village level the Council has initiated to bring this bill since 2010 and the draft bills was brought out in 2011.
The EM in charge Elaka Mr L Blah said that the draft bill was circulated to all Elakas in 2011 and the Council has seek the opinion of the people on this regard how to improve bill. Since the members of the house has asked to refer to the select committee the Bill will sent to the committee for further examination.
The members of the KHADC who want that the bill be sent to the select committee for proper examination are Mr C Sohtun, M Nongrem, L Malangniang and Titus Chyne. All these members want that let the select committee examine the bill before passing the Bill.(SP News)
