The MeECL seek Rs 1400 cores guarantee from the state Government

 

Shillong, June 28: The Chief minister of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma today inform that theh have discuss  in the cabinet about the Meghalaya Electrical Corporation Limited (MeECL) for seeking Rs 1400 cores guarantee from the state government  as a bail out for the Corporation.

In this regard the Cabinet has asked the MeECL to prepare the   statute report and present it before the committee for discussion.  The Chief Minister said that the losses made by the MeECL thought they show at around 30% but the actual lose will be around 40%.

The MeECL has a lot of scope to revamp it self for the betterment of the corporation. The Chief minister has also sent  a green signal to all government corporation that they should perform for their own sustainability  government cannot help them up every time.

The Cabinet has also approved of setting up the Meghalaya State Commission on protection of Children Right (MSCPCR). This commission will consist of one chairman, six members out of which two will be from the women side.

The Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Limited  has all the way to simile since the cabinet has given it approval  that the MCAB can now borrow from the NABARD  for an amount of Rs 30 cores to implement various scheme  related to farmers activities. (SP News)
