Nongstoin, June 16: The resident of Mawthabah in west Khasi Hills District got annoy with the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited for not starting the electrification at Mawthabah village though the material has kept in that village more than one year.
The people of that area said that if the MeECL is not starting the work its better to sale thus electric polls as scrap, why the MeECL just go and dump the materials with out starting the work. At the time of sanction the MeECL has given at the same time to Nongtynger Village and Nongbah Jarin which the work has been completed in thus two villages.
The contractors just come and dump the materials and started digging few holes to erect electric polls but he has stop the work till date. The villagers is questioning the MeECL why they have stop the work at Mawthabah Village.(SP News)
