Shillong, June 11: The Meghalaya Health Insurance scheme is the brand name of the RSBY of the Labour minister government of India.
From the MHIS Disease Package Rate, there is no mention of the MHIS but it clearly mention the name RSBY the health insurance scheme of the government of India implanted by the Labour ministry. In the e Disease package rate it clearly showed the words RSBY which have put up by the Health department in the official website.
In the Disease package rate they have specified the amount that will be paid to each ailment during the course of treatment. If the amount exceed above the prescribe limit the patient has to bear from his pocket. But from the state government in its publicity claim that it will cover Rs.1.6 lakh annually for thus people who hold the cards.
The Government of Meghalaya has not informed to the people that there are different type of items that will be cover under this health Insurance scheme. In the disease package rate, the price was fix Rs.1000/-per day if the patient need to kept under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), for dislocation of knee the rate has been fix Rs.1100/- etc.
Meghalaya Health Minister Shri AL Hek while talking to Media person admit that there are some lacuna in the schemes. He said that he has director the MHIS to submit the full report to him so that the lacuna will be rectified. The minister admit that he is not well verse with the dose and done of the Schme.
At his personal level he fill that there should be no items since this is the scheme of the state government, what he fill is that the MHIS has just adopt the guideline of the RSBY Scheme. The matter will be inform to the Chief Minister so that it will be taken up at the Cabinet since this is policy matter.(SP News)
