Shillong, July 1: The Meghalaya Youth Foundation, expressed concern over the frequent power cut and the disruption of power supply in areas around Nongkrem that falls under Mawryngkneng Distribution Line.
Frequent power cuts at Mawryngkneng area has brought inconvenience to the local residents of the area, Chairman of the MYF Joannes lamare informed here on Monday.
It was informed that during the last week, power cuts numbering of about 6-8 times a day had been reported and this had caused loads of inconvenience to the local residents of these areas.
Further, Lamare said that issue had been taken up by the Local MLA but to no avail and it seems as though it was just mere talk without any actions being taken and no effect at all.
Meanwhile, the MYF charged the concern authorities of MeCEL and the concern department to take appropriate and necessary steps and actions so as to address the problem faced by the local residents of the affected areas.(SP News)
