Shillong, March 22: The Nationalist People’s Party expressed their sympathy to the Lower Primary teachers serving under the eighty nine days contract whose service has been terminated and asked the government to roll back the clause issued in the recent notification even as it demanded immediate release of pending salaries of SSA and Ad hoc schoolteachers in the state
Terming that the termination is uncalled for by the party, NPP Legislator James Sangma said, “The government cannot just remove them from their service without prior information,”.
Further Sangma said that the government cannot just suddenly change the notification. He also informed that as per the advertisement the eligibility criteria required for a candidate is just HSSLC passed but later a notification was issued stating that the elegibility criteria is to secure 45% in the HSSLC.
Reacting strongly on the notification given by the education department which was release on March 7, 2013 senior leader of NPP Conrad Sangma urged upon the government to roll back the clause.
Meanwhile the NPP is also concern on the issue of SSA and adhoc teachers serving in the state for getting only rupees 6000 as their salary however the party would like the government to see into the matter and increase the salary to 9000.
Besides, the party strongly opposed the delayed in disbursing of salaries for five month and demanded the government to expedite steps and release their salaries immediately.
On the other hand the NPP also express concern over the delay in disbursement of the arrears for college teachers and asked the government to released the arrears with imediate effect.(SP News)
