The NCCI expects the Government of India to recognize the sentiments of the Tamils

Nagpur  March 18: The NCCI recognizes that in name of war on terrorism the Government of Sri Lanka rooted out several hundreds of thousand innocent indigenousethnic Tamil communities, its history and culture

The NCCI respects the sentiments of the people of Tamilnadu and expresses its solidarity with the student communities who fast for justice forthe war victims in Sri Lanka and demand the Government of India to initiate an independent international high-level war probe and fact finding.

The NCCI joins all the political parties who insist that the Government of India should moot a resolution at the UNHRC seeking a detail international probe into the human rights violations during the war in 2009 in order to make the Government of Sri Lanka accountable.

The NCCI expects the Government of India to recognize the sentiments of the Tamils in India and Sri Lanka and support the USA’sinitiative in UNHRC at this crucial juncture.

The NCCI advocates that the Government of India should facilitate the UN in conducting a referendum among Tamils in Sri Lanka on their status.

The NCCI pleads with the people of Tamilnadu to practice the culture of hospitality towards the individual visitors, players, pilgrims and students from Sri Lanka, since hospitality is our culture.

The NCCI urges all its members and all faith communities to constantly pray for the war victims in Sri Lanka, their future and post-war reconstruction efforts initiated by the international communities for a peaceful future.(SP News)
