The NGO’s of Meghalaya will pressurized the government to implement ILP in the state

 

Shillong, July 12: The Non Governmental Organization (NGO) has decided to put pressures on the government of Meghalaya to implement the Inner Line Permit in the state to curb influx.

The president of the FKJGP Mr Joe Marwein told the media after their meeting  that the  decision that they have taken is to call for a public meeting in all the six district in the Khasi Jaintia region as a step to send a message to the government that ILP should be implemented  in the State.

They will started their  public meeting from Ri Bhoi District which they will held at Nongpoh on the 18/7/2013 followed  by South West Khasi Hills at Mawkyrwat on the 20/7/2013, then they will moved to East Jiantia Hills on the 22/7/2013 follow by Nongstoin West Khasi Hills on the 24/7/2013 and on the 29/7/2013 at Jowai West Jaintia Hills District.

The  last public meeting they will organized in the state Capital Shillong which they have not fix the date. Mr Joe said that  the eelier government has set up a committee which they have had five sitting and the report was  submitted to the government but the government  is playing  around with all the delaying tactic.

The President of the KSU  Mr Daniel Khyriem said that the ILP was earlier implemented in 1973, but what they want that the government should not implement  that old style but it should be according to the context. Any decision that they will take it will be after the public meeting they  will be  in the sate capital shillong.(SP News)
