The PWD minister inspect the NH-44 after NGO’s threaten for agitation

Jowai, Feb 08: The PWD Minister government of Meghalaya Mr  Sniawbhalang Dhar today personally went to inspect the NH-44 after the NGO’s from Jaintia Hills threaten to call for the agitation if the government is not repairing the raod

Others official who accompanied  the PWD minister include the secretary mr  M.M.Sun Secretary PWD (R&B),Mr   L Passah C.E.NH,PWD (R)  and official from the NHAI, the project Director himself Col.Rajiv Malhotra.

The condition of the NH-44 is horrible right from  Mihmyntdu upto Molidhar, the length of this raod which is in dilapidated condition is more than 104.25 Km, this in only in the Meghalaya section.

The PWD minister while talking to media person said that it is not his duty to go and inspect the road since NHAI has already taken the raod on the 10th of  January this year to rebuild the raod. But since then they have not started the construction work.

The Project Director of NHAI Col. Rajiv Malhotra said that the work was given to Simpex  Infrastructure Ltd but they have asked for another’s three month times to start the work since they are yet to bring the machineries from others place where they are doing the work.

Col Rajiv Malhotra said that there is no problem fromthier side to do the work, and he assured that they will complete the metaling and black toping the NH-44 with three years as per schedule.(SP News)
