The second batch of ELV training programme organized by BSF

 

Shillong, July 01: The Second batch of Employment-linked Vocational training programme, an BWWA president handed the certificate to one of the traineeinitiative of BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA), New Delhi in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and its corporate partners has successfully completed the course. The programwas conducted by the BWWA, Shillong and B-ABLE (Basic Academy For Building Lifelong Employability Ltd), a corporate partner of NSDC. By attending this programme, 31 candidates have required professional skills in Retail Sales and marketing, Basic Office IT, Business Spoken English, Personality Development etc. These students included the widows, wards and wives of BSF serving as well as retired personnel and civilians. The certificate were distributed by president BWWA Shillong Mrs Neeru Kumar.

The Employment Linked Vocational Training Program is a landmark initiative of BWWA which aims at providing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to not only the families and wards of the serving and retired personnel but also the local population. The trained personnel are provided with employment and self-entrepreneurship opportunity by the corporate partner of the NSDC. BSF has already completed on such pilot projects in Meghalaya which aimed at providing skills in textiles and apparels to the BSF families and local border ladies.
This “Employment-linked Vocational training programme” was inaugurated by Shri Subhash Joshi,IPS,DG BSF on 13rd  March 2013 at BWWA Shillong during his visit to Shillong Frontier BSF Meghalaya. Most of the candidates have already got the placement at various firms located at Shillong, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata.
While addressing the gathering President BWWA Shillong, Mrs Neeru Kumar congratulated all the students who passed out and also appreciated BWWA for organizing Employment-linked Vocational Training Programme. She expressed her immense pleasure in giving away the Certificates of Skill and stated that in present day scenario getting employment without any extra skills is very difficult and this programme has added those extra skills in all the students completing the training.She also appreciated the efforts of B-ABLE for providing the training and getting the employment. Shri Sudesh Kumar, IPS, IG BSF Meghalaya Ftr was also present on the occasion. (SP News)
