Shillong, July 13: The four day long ritual of the Naimtre of the Pnar community call “ Ka Behdienkhlam” concluded today with colour full ritual where “ Rot” from different part of Jowai Doloiship bought to aitnar where thousand of people witness the concluding day of the Behdeinkhlam.
This year the Behdeinkhlam added with more importance where the speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Mr Rajendra Arlekar come all the way to the remort area of Jaintia Hills to witness the Behdeinkhlam of the Pnar Community.
Others official from the government of Meghalaya who where present in this Behdeinkhlam are Mrs Amapareen Lyngdoh Urban Affair minister, Sngewbhalang Dhar PWD minister, Ngaitlang Dhar parliamentary Secretary and the official from the West Jaintia Hills District.
This year all together there are eleven “Rot” that where brought from different place of the Jowai Doloiship, in all these “Rot” they carry with the write up which tell the world about the day today happing in human daily life.
They speak of the environmental degradation, they speak about the danger of Aids and the ill effect for thus who are addicted to drugs and the crimes that were committed against women and children’s and many more.
To conclude this Behdeinkhlam the traditional football games was played between the team of the “Lyngdoh” ( priest) and the Sangot team ( Who call the meeting) and in this play the team of the Lyngdoh wont the Games.
The Mythology said that by winning the games by the Lynfdoh, show that the agriculture produce these will be good special for this who where cultivating paddy. In these Behdeinkhlam people from all over the khasi region withness the festival which ended piece full at Jowai.(SP News)
