Shillong, August 27: The All Teachers’ Association of Meghalaya (JACATCM) today started their agitation 
to protest against the adamant attitude of the Education Minister of Meghalaya Dr RC Laoo by wearing black flag in their work place.
Today agitation is the first part of their imitational program that the association has announced earlier. The teachers association will take the second phase of their agitation with pen down strike on the 29 of this month.
Today it was seen in all aided government school teacher are wearing black flag while taking class to the student inside the class room. The government till today has not sent any word to the association for dialogue.
The demand of the teachers association include the timely payment of salary the government should provincialised the services of teachers not the school. The JACATCM want to get the clarification from the government but the education minister refused to met them.
What make the teacher community more agitated is the direction of the minister asking them to meet the officer of the education department and avoid himself in meeting them to discuss their problems.(SP News)
