Mawlongbna April 21: A three day annual meet of the Sengkhihlang of the Khasi who still upholding their traditional faith ended today at Mawlongbna where thousands of people from the Khasi Hills areas takpart.
The annual meet started on the 19 of this month and concluded today. The annual meet started with the erection of the monolith brought from Jaintia Hills District, The erection of the monolith is the sing that the khasi from time of memorial used to show to the world that the Khasi have their own define sign.
This year the annual meet was held at Mawlongbna Village in East Khasi Hills District, it is a year long preparation. The objective of holding these annual meet is to inculcate to every one who are still upholding the traditional belief that it is necessary to up hold it own tradition and practice.(SP News)
