Shillong, Jan 4: Three more persons involved in a recent shooting case at Barato village in West Jaintia Hills district have been arrested by the Police of West Jaintia on Friday morning.
It may be mentioned here that the incident occured on December 30 leaving one person, Jelbinroy Dkhar (44 yrs) injured.
According to the West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police HG Lyngdoh, the arrested persons identified as Jar-E-Sniaw Dkhar (19), Deimonmi Dkhar (40) and Santius Dkhar (20) were nabbed from Barato village during a raid conducted by the police this morning.
The three persons are currently in police custody. “We still suspect that more people are involved in this case. We are enquiring into the matter”, Lyngdoh said.
Police also informed that on conducting searches one Smooth Bore Muzzle Loading (SBML) gun, led palletes was recovered.
Meanwhile, in relation to a shooting case at That-Ialong at WJH on the night of January 2 where one person succumbed to his injuries, people suspected that the same gang could be behind the shooting case.(SP News)
