Shillong, Septe 3: An awareness campaign on Women Economic Empowerment through Financial Inclusion, organized by the office of the Tikrikilla Block Development .Officer was held at the community hall recently.
Women economic empowerment through financial inclusion is one of the schemesunder the Chief Minister’s flagship IBDLP or Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Promotion Programme.
This programme aims to liberate women as an individual and help her stand on her self financially. Till date Tikrikilla Block Development Office has received application foraround two thousand two hundred and fifty applications.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Guest for the day, Shri Michael T. Sangma, Parliamentary Secretary for Excise and local MLA urged the people of the region to grab the opportunity and utilize the scheme to their maximum benefit.
Shri Sangma also emphasized the need to save and manage the allotted amount so as to receive a profitable dividend from their chosen business. He reminded the people that they would have to receive training before they could receive the loan from the bank. SM Sangrna encouraged the people to work hard and dedicate honestly towards learning more about their chosen type of scheme.
Earlier, speaking at the occasion, Ski Carlos D. Sangma, Horticulture Officer,Tikrikilla a explained to the people how to apply for the scheme. Among others who spoke at the occasion are Shri C. J.
