Shillong, Sept 18: The Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills District Pravin Bakshi said that the members of the Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) who were arrested has been shifted from Tura Jail to Jowai Jail.
Speaking to SP News Agency the Deputy Commissioner of West GaroHills said that the Jail at Tura is over crowded and with the people visiting these inmate everyday has couse a lot of inconveniences to the jail authority.
The District administration foreseen that if this continued for long any thing may happen inside the jail to prevent such thing it better to shift them to others jail. All the fourteen members are shifted on the 17of of this month.(SP News)
