Shillong, June 13: The Health Minister government of Meghalaya Mr A L Hek to day along with the commissioner Health and family welfare clear the doubt about the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme from the mind of the Public.
Mr DP Wahlang while addressing the media in the present of the minister said that “The MHIS will pay to the cost of hospitalization to the patient within the quoted rate prescribe by the RSBY rate”.
The government has asked all the empanelled hospital to display the packaged rate so that the people will be aware so that the confusion will not be there in futures. If the treatment in the packed shown Rs. 10,000/- and if the treatment for that particular ailment is Rs. 12,000/- the patient has to pay from his pocket the additional amount.
The Commissioner and Secretary Health and Family welfare government of Meghalaya said that people should understand this. At the same time the government is ready to revise the rate shortly for the benefit of the people.
When asked about the fees paid by the government to the ICICI Lombard, the secretary said that the government is paying Rs. 478 per cards to the insurance company.
About the police matter when asked weather the government is having any plant to increased the numbers of person in the cards the minister reply “We did not expect that every body will get sick”. The plan is only for five members of each family.(SP News)
