Shillong, Jan 24: The Central Ground Water Board, NER, Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India, Guwahati and Rajiv Gandhi National Ground Water Training & Research Institute, Raipur, is organizing a training course for two days on 28th & 29th January, 2014 on Aquifer Management through Participatory Approach and Local Groundwater Issues at Enterprise Facilitation Centre, C&RD Block, Mawphlang, E K Hills district, Meghalaya. This training course is organised as a nationwide programme under Tier-III training programme for ground water users and stake holders of rural areas to make them self-reliant in managing the ground water resources at village level.
About 150 persons including Headmen, NGO & SHG representatives and people from different walks of life involved in water use and management are expected to attend this training course. A field visit is also planned during the training.
Mr Sanjay Goyal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, E K Hills district will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function, which will be held at 11 a.m. on January 28, 2014 at Enterprise Facilitation Centre, C&RD Block, Mawphlang, E K Hills district. Shri T. Chakraborty, OIC, Central Ground Water Board, State Unit Office, Shillong, will preside over the function. Said the pib released.(SP News)
