Guwahati, July 07: Under the aegis of Janajatiya Yuba Kalyan Parishad, a plantation drive was taken today in the Bishnu Rabha Park, in Udalbakra, in Guwahati. A 
park set up by the Parishad has been under construction for some time, thus giving a new hope for a new recreation park for localities including others. The park also have a stage for holding functions and any other programmes. Very soon this multipurpose Bishnu Rabha park will be ready for Guwahatians.
Localities and members of the Janajatiya Yuba Kalyan Parishad,gathered in large number for the plantation programme. Some 500 tree sapling was distributed free by the forest department for plantation. The Parishad was formed some three decades ago for the protection of lands in Udalbakra area for public interests has reaped benefit for the new generation and new settlers in the region.
Paniram Rabha, a former congress MLA and a social activist who is also the president of the Janajatiya Yuba Kalyan Parishad, in his inaugural speech recollected memories of old days about the greater Udalbakra area and shared
information about the need to form the Parishad then.
Both Male and women and young people were present on this auspicious occasion and planted hundreds of saplings round the park. The farsightedness of the Janajatiya Yuba Kalyan Parishad, had helped to preserve a large chunk of land for a recreation park, besides a playground and a cemetery in the locality. “It is high time to plant trees because we have destroyed a lot, and so we are doing this plantation drive in this park” Said Someshwar Boro,
