Twenty nine students of St Margereth School fell down the stairs,4critically injured

Shillong, April 8: Twenty nine students of St Margereth School in Laitumkhrah fell down the stairs of the first floor and of the school and were rushed to the Nazareth hospital with injuries.

It was also learnt the during the ill fated incident eleven students were admitted and four of them were found critical and were kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The students belongs to Class II, III and IV.

Talking to media persons school principal Marina Thomas informed that the incident happened around noon when the students came out of their class to have their lunch. She said, “One of the students fell from the steps of the first floor and the other did not pay attention, thereby tripping all the other students who were coming down the stairs.”

According to the doctor it was informed that the condition of the three students were stable whereas one remain critical and was still under observation.(SP News)
