Shillong, Jan 22: The Border Security Force apprehended two Garo National Liberation Army GNLA) linkmen from Betasing market under Ampati in South West Garo Hills district on Monday.
According to the BSF official the apprehended GNLA linkmen have been identified as Janath D. Sangma and Mathani Momin, both belonging to Arrengre village under Ampati police station.
The arrest was made in a joint operation carried out by BSF troops and Meghalaya police.
On conducting searh, the security forces recovered three mobile phones with two SIM cards, two extra batteries, two driving license and one voter ID card from their possession.
Besides, on the lead provided by the duo, a pistol was recovered from the residential compound of Janath D. Sangma.
The apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to the concerned police station for necessary action as per the law, the BSF official said.-
