Tura, Jan 13: A teen age girls aged about 15, was taken by two men named Saidul Rehman and another and they gang raped her at her village Paham under Tikrikilla Police station in West Garo Hills District.
In another incident as the girl was going to the toilet two youths held her and raped her. She shouted and two villagers came and found them raping her. So the accused were caught by the two but some other friends of theirs came to help the accused escape.
It was only on the next day 13.1.2014 that the parents took her to the Bogular bhita Outpost, West Garo hills.
Police station and reported the matter. She was taken to Tura for Medical checkup and there is also No woman Police in the Outpost or the nearest Thana. She has had to stay back in Tura as she has to undergo an x-ray for her age determination and have had to stay in Tura, with relatives.
Till reporting this case the accused have not yet been arrested In another case in Marbisu Ummyllei village, East Khasi Hills District, an 11 years old girl was raped by a person of about 30 years. It occurred on the 6.1.2014 at about 3 pm . The accused entered the house and raped the child who was with her little sibling’s. The FIR was filed on the 7.1.2014 by the parent of the child.
She was first taken to PHC Mawphlang, where immediate medical test was done which confirms the rape. She was later taken to Ganesh Das Hospital, for other formalities, and they returned home till late at 8 pm. Again they were asked to go on the 10 .1.2014 to Ganesh Das for blood test and the age determination.(SP News)
