Nongpoh, Septe 02: On the eve of the 12-hurs state wide band call by NGO’s some miscreant at the vie hours today set on fire the office of the public work department (PWD) at Nongpoh and the veterinary integrated office at Umling both the incident fall under the Ri Bhoi District.
The incident take place at around 2.10 Am, due to the timely arrival of the fire brigade the major damage have been averted in both the government offices. The veterinary office at Umling is an integrated office which use for many purpose for the people of the area.
The Superintendent of police Ri Bhoi District Mr C V S Ready told SP News Agency that the office of the veterinary department situated about 100 meters from the GS Road. The rooftop of the building was damage since the roof is of the Assam type.
About the PWD office at Nongpoh said that there is no major damage, only window paint partially damage, but most important is the old record in the office some has been burn in the incident.(SP News)
