Shillong, April 11: The minister in-charge water resources Dr RC Laloo in his reply to the question put by the HSPDP MLA Mr Ardent Basaiawmoit said that very soon the state government will have it own water policy, and the government is taking note about the suggestion made by the member.
In his supplementary question Mr Ardent said that he get the same reply to the same question that he has put in 5th September in 2012, he said that the government has not taken any action. He said if the government delay in having the policy it will affect the water in the state.
He also said that drilling of ground water in the capital Shillong is in rampant and the water level has gone down if the government is delaying in having the policy people of the state will suffer a lot.
In the supplementary answer to the question made by the Nongkrem MLA, the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma assured the house that very soon the state will have its own water policy. (SP News)
