Village with 250 population are entitle to have PNGSY road in special category state

 

Shillong, August 09:  The ministry of Rural Development has amended the  Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana of para 2.1 for the special category state in the country. These amendment will benefit specially all thus hilly state like Meghalaya.

The main  objective of the PMGSY is to provide connectivity, by way of an All-Weather Road  to the eligible unconnected Habitations in the rural areas with a population of 500 persons and above base on the Census 2001 in plain areas.

Sources close to the Public work department government of Meghalaya said that the Director RC  mr P Manoj Kumar on the 25th of July las month has issue a circular to all Chief Engineer or to any concern authority who is handling the PMGSY scheme the all thus state categories as special category state a village having with a population of 250 are eligible to have PMGSY Road.

Sources from the PWD said that with the amendment of para 2.1 will greatly benefited Meghalaya since many villages in the state are yet to get road connectivity.(SP News)
