we cannot even fully fathom the anguish of the minority communities

Shillong, March 20: The recent strife-torn situation in Bangladesh is indeed shocking. The violence and ensuing disruption of normalcy must, understandably be deeply distressing to all agencies committed to Peace and Progress.

Despite our deepest desire, we cannot even fully fathom the anguish of the minority communities bearing the brunt of an unjustifiable anger that threatens the secular fabric of your beautiful country. From the perspective of our current theme “The Gospel in a groaning world”, we can understand the colossal task of the Bangladesh Council of Churches to infuse hope in a seemingly hopeless situation.

In this crucial hour we are with you in your struggle and efforts to affirm Kingdom values to re-establish order and rebuild socio-political structures thereby being united in God’sparticipatory work of creative justice.

I’m sure we feel anxious but arenot beaten. You may be assured of our sincerest prayers, and trusting in the ultimate Goodness of our Liberator God, we share your concern and pledge our cooperation with eager anticipation of His Restoration and reign of Peace.
