Shillong, August 13: The Khasi Student Union (KSU) North Khasi Hills said that they are not against the non- tribal but they want a Deputy Commissioner in the District who is well acquainted with the area of the District
The President of the KSU North Khasi Hills Mr F Kharkamni told SP News Agency that “ we are not against the non-tribal but we want a deputy commissioner in the Ri Bhoi District who is well acquainted with the District, since the district is bordering Assam”. He said.
Ri Bhoi District is the gate way to the capital City Shillong, there fore the district need a Deputy Commissioner who is well aware with the area. The frequent trouble that crop up with the neighboring state Assam due to border dispute. If the District had a Deputy Commissioner who is not aware of all this thing the Assam Government will always create trouble.
From the organization they have submitted the memorandum to the Chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma to relief the present Deputy Commissioner and place with the new one but according to the order the government has appointed Ponam Pandey and she is yet to take charge.(SP News)
