Shillong, August 04: The residence of Mawlai Nongpdeng early morning has apprehended 11 people for their areas while they were there cocking on the road sie. These people comprised seven male, one famle and two childrens.
While answering to the queries made by the local residence these people said that they come from Nongjri in South West Khasi Hills and they area working as labourers with one contractor known as Mr Moon.
They also said that they are on their way to Dhubri from Assam to be with their relative for the Id-Ul-Fitter religious festival that will be held on the 9 of this month. They have been working with that contractor now for the last four month.
The Meghalaya police has taken them for interrogation to ascertain the fact weather they are from Dhubri or they are from Bangladesh since Nongjri is a coal belt area where people from Bangladesh also employed in their coal mines. (SP News)
