Whom to blame, the Govt of Meghalaya, NHAI for the bad road condition of NH-44

 

Jowai, Dec 14: The national high way- 44 in the part of the Jaintia Hills from Jowai to Ratachera is in a bad conDSC00374dition particularly from Jowai to of West Jaintia Hills to Mynkry in East Jaintia Hills.

The NGOs of the area like the KSU, the JYF, JSU and the headman association has call for a band early this year but the deputy Commissioner of East Jiantia Hills requested the organization not to agitate.

The SP News Agency visited the area and found that the road condition is so pathetic which the commuter fine it difficult in driving on that road which cannot imagine that these is the national high way which connect Assam, Meghalaya Tripura and MAizwal.

The people of the area told the SP News Agency that the condition of the road is from bad to worst and they are in the dilemma what to do, whom to blame either the Government of Meghalaya or the National Highway authority of India. The people of the area blame both the state and the NHAI for their in action to repair the road.

The density of the traffic in these road is high as people from others state like Tripura, Mizoram and Lower Assam are traveling on these road. The question arise weather the state government cannot pursue with the  central government to repair the road or the authority of NHAI who deal with the maintenance of Highway are neglecting the raod.(SP News)
