Shillong, July 11: The question has arise why the Meghalaya Government hesitate to shift the Mr Champion R Marak Chairman of the band out fit GNLA from Shillong District Jail to others jails out side the state for security reason.
Sources told SP News Agency that, the former Director General of Prison Mr Kulbir Singh has written seven letters to the government asking the state government to shift the GNLA Chairman from Shillong to some jail out side the state.
The Former Director General of Prison has written the first letter addressing to the Principal Secretary Home and the Chief Secretary government of Meghalaya on the 15th March this year. In this letter the DG Prison has given enough proof that anything may happen inside the jail if Champion is not shifted out side the state.
The second letter was sent on the 19/03/2013, the third letter was sent on the 24/3/2013 and the fouth letter was sent on the 17/5.2013. The DG Prison also met the chief secretary personally and the home minister Roshan Warjti was aware about thses.
In the Month of June the DG Prison sent three letters, on the 18/6/2013, on the 21/6/2013 and on the 25/6/2013 and the scuffle inside the jail toke place on the 26th June 2013 where the DG Prison was remove from his post.
Sources told SP News Agency that the former Director General Prison had want that some thing will happen inside the jail and if the government is not shifting the GNLA chief from the Shillong District jail. The state government remains silence till thing happen instead of removing Champion the Government remove the DG Prison from the post. (SP News)
