Shillong, Oct 31: The Khasi Disabilities Association (KDA) today submitted a memorandum to the Chief minister of Meghalaya through the minister in charge social welfare Smti Debora Marak. In the Memorandum the association demanded that disable person should be consider as BPL.
The Government of Meghalaya should also provide IAY Houses, the government should implement the 3% job reservation for the disable as published in the Meghalaya Gazette on the 25th Janunary 2012.
The president of the Association Mr Starwin Kharjana told media person after meeting the minister social welfare that from the association will wait till the end of this year for the government to implement their deamand, id not they will again come on the street.
In the meeting the minister said that she will call all the department concern to discuss the matter so that they could implement to what they have demanded.
Since the government has assured that they will fine out ways and means solved their problems the KDA put on hold their propose procession from parking lot opposite state bank of India to secretariat. (SP News)
