Shillong, Oct 27: HQ Recruiting Zone (NE States) is recruiting eligible youth from the seven North Eastern States Six major recruitment rallies were conducted during the last six months Lectures are being conducted in schools and colleges to encourage more candidates to apply for commissioning and recruitment in the Indian Army, attended at times by ministers and MLAs of the states. Women are also being encouraged to join as Officers. Selected recruits are dispatched to their new units every three months in March, June, September and December, during the dispatch ceremony, a formal function is held in the presence of the parents, civil administration officials and senior officers from the Indian Army

The overwhelming response generated in the last six months during recruitment rallies have truly been an epitome of Army – Civil Administration cooperation. The Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries and other State Administration Officials deserve special mention and praise. The State and District Administrations in the rest of the Country should take a leaf out of the efforts and cooperation from their counter-parts in the seven NE States on how to cooperate and support the recruitment and commissioning efforts of the Indian Army.

In the next six months, recruitment rallies will be held at Kohima, Aizawl, Jorhat and Arunachal Pradesh. Written exams of candidates who have qualified at Shillong in July 2013 will be held at Shillong on 27 October 2013, and those who qualified at Agartala in August 2013 will be held at Agartala on 27 Oct 2013. Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for Clerks/Store Keepers Technical held on 28 July 2013 at Army Public School, Shillong has been annulled by Integrated Headquarter of Ministry of Defence (Army). These candidates will get another opportunity to appear for the written exam on 24 November 2013 at Narangi (Guwahati). Candidates of Technical categories qualified at Agartala in August 2013 will also give their written exam on 24 November 2013 at Narangi (Guwahati). Qualified candidates of rally at Kohima in November 2013 will appear for written exam at Kohima on 24 November 2013.

All affected candidates are requested to contact their respective Army Recruiting Offices, Recruiting Office Shillong at 0364-2506581 or Army Recruiting Office Silchar at 03642-260978 for further briefing or any problems faced. They can approach their nearest Army Recruiting Office or any Army Recruiting Office or HQ Recruiting Zone (NE States) for assistance and advice. Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for written test in other categories i.e. Soldier General Duty/Tradesmen/Technical, etc are being conducted as planned on 27 Oct 2013 at respective locations in Shillong and Agartala.

The HQ Recruiting Zone has initiated to resolve the issue of Permanent Residence Certificates to eligible candidates and improve numbers being recruited from the NE states, in the Indian Army.  The State Governments are responding positively.(SP News)
