Shillong Dec 14: As part of observing the year of the youth, the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides (MBSG) organised a three-day youth programme called JAMYIN 2012 or the Jamboree cum Youth Integration Camp stating from the 12 of December at the State Headquarter here in Shillong.
The three day programme was taken part actively by youth groups from different parts of the district. Addressing the valedictory function Secretary Education Department F R Kharkongor lauded the youth who took part at the programme while calling upon the active participation of the youth in bringing about a change in the society.
He also said that youth power reflects dynamism and builds in catering the needs of the society.While commenting on this year’s theme of the programme, ‘Youth we are, Change we want, Build we can’ is the element of life Kharkongor said, “With the power of the youth unleashed in the right form it can bring a great change to the society,”
The aimed of the programme was to involve the youth in different activities besides to enable them to share their ideas amongst the youth. Various programme which include aerobic display, camp, friendship games camp fire besides others was organised at the three day event Different social organizations such as NYK, SOS, NSS and BSG were also present in the occasion.(SP News)
