Shillong, March 22: At the end of the Kickboxing India League Pro Open National in the events of Low Kick, Full Contact & K1 held at City Center Mall, Siliguri, West Bengal from 17th – 19th March 2025 under the aegis of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation.
Miss Daniella I Wanda Mylliemngap (- 60 kg K1 Rules event) of Upper Lumparing Lumdorbar Shillong, Juh Pa U Juh Nongtdu ( – 61 kg K1 rules event) of Nartiang Main Road village and Fedrick Khongsit (- 54 kg in Full Contact event) of Laitkor Nongdaneng have earned the Title Belt with a cash award of Rs 15 k each.
While Miss Careen Judy Kharkamni (- 60 kg K1 Rules event) a resident of Laitkor Nongdaneng and a student of Women’s college Shillong and Miss Ibankyntiew Iangrai (- 48 kgs Low Kick event) a resident of Mawdiangdiang and a Class X Student of Pine Mount Higher School Shillong have to be contended as the runner-up.
At the same time Shanlang Khongsit (-51 Kg Low Kick) of Umpling Donglum Surok Shillong and Raymond Jyrwa (- 48 Kg Low Kick) of Nongrah Nonglum Shillong and a student of Providence School Laitumkhrah secured bronze medals.
The team is led by General Secretary Fourwell Khongmalai and Coach Bantiplang Khongwir of Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association. Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association congratulated the winners for their achievement and hope that one day they will represent India at the International Events of Kickboxing.
It is worth mentioning here that Kickboxing is a recognized Sports Discipline by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GOI & International Olympic Committee (IOC).
It is worth mentioning to inform here since August 2017 till now MSKA Kickboxer have brought medals so far total 242 medals comprising of 90 Gold, 64 Silver and 88 Bronze medals for Meghalaya and India in National and International arena with International Standard Medals of 41 numbers comprising of 23 Gold, 8 Silver and 10 Bronze Medals.
Even at the All India University Games (AIU Games) our Kickboxer have created a record of bringing laurels and medals for NEHU Shillong since 2019 with 9 medals comprising 1 gold, 1 silver and 7 bronze medal respectively.
