Shillong, December 02: At last Meghalaya got the new Director General of Police (DGP) with
accepted the offer from the state government.
The senior IPS officer of 1977 batch belongs to Assam and Meghalaya Cadres. He has been the acting DGP of the state in 2009. When the post fell vacant with the retirement Mr N Ramachandran the state government fine it difficult to get his successor.
The acceptance of Mr Kulbir to be the new DGP of Meghalaya assume significant since the state is going to poll in the news 70 days from now.
The New DGP has a very tuff time since the election is round the corner and militancy activities in Garo Hills on the rise.
People of Meghalaya thank Mr Kulbir who fully knows the mantel that he has to carry in his shoulder to be in the hot chair with much political interference while carrying out his duties. (SP News)
