Executive course on makeup and hair training under the MSME Performance scheme, Shillong

Shillong, Sept 05: The highly anticipated Executive Course on Makeup & Hair Training, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, was inaugurated on 02.09.2024 with great enthusiasm at the Youth Hostel in Shillong. This initiative, aimed at empowering the youth of Meghalaya, is a major step toward developing vital skills in the beauty and hair industry.

The inauguration saw the esteemed presence of several dignitaries, including Shri. Shashank B. Dash, SPIU Team Leader; Shri. I.Z. Wreang, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Commerce and  Industries; and Shri. M. L. Wanshnong, Joint Director of Commerce and  Industries.

Adding to the event’s prestige, Smti. Elizabeth Mukhim, a highly regarded trainer with extensive studies in France, Thailand, and Singapore, will be sharing her invaluable expertise with the 50 participating students from various districts of Meghalaya.

This workshop, sponsored by the Department of Commerce & Industries, Government of Meghalaya, and conducted by the Rajeev Gandhi Computer Training Center and Nursery Teachers Training Academy (RGCTC & NTTA) in Shillong, promises to provide students with cutting-edge knowledge in makeup, hair cutting, coloring, and dressing.

The course symbolizes a commitment to skill development, offering new pathways to success in the beauty industry for the youth of Meghalaya.

It may be noted that the RAMP Scheme is a Central Sector initiative by the Ministry of Micro, Small and  Medium Enterprises (MSME), aimed at scaling up MSMEs across India by enhancing market access, credit opportunities, and addressing implementation challenges.

The scheme aims to scale up the implementation capacity and coverage of MSMEs in the States, with impact enhancement of existing MSME schemes.

The scheme shall implement regulatory, financial, and implementation reforms as well as firm-level access reforms to provide targeted interventions to MSMEs across recognized challenge areas.With an outlay of ₹ 6062.45 crore, the scheme targets the improvement of 5.55 lakh MSMEs nationwide.
