Shillong, Sept 24: Shri Thomas A. Sangma, Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, along with Shri Timothy D. Shira, Deputy Speaker, attended the 10th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference held at Lok Sabha, New Delhi.
The conference focused on ‘The Role of Legislative Bodies in the Attainment of Sustainable and Inclusive Development.’The Speaker, Shri Thomas A. Sangma, shared that this was his third time attending the CPA Confernce.
He highlighted the value of such conferences, stating that they provide deep insights into legislative procedures, which are sometimes overlooked or difficult to interpret.
He emphasized that the CPA Conference has greatly contributed to enhancing his understanding and experience, enabling him to be more effective in conducting and managing legislative affairs in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
