Shillong, Nov 25: The Director of Higher and Technical Education Government of Meghalaya today update on the Status of disbursal of Post Matric Scholarships for the Year 2023-24 to students belonging to the State of Meghalaya.
In continuation to the press release dated 22nd November 2024,The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Education Department, Meghalaya, Shillong inform all coniemed about the status of payments under the Umbrella Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for the year 2023-24, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
The Director stated that the key Points: . Funds Received: The Directorate has received a total of Rs. 1,08,83,36,926/- for disbursal of Scholarships, comprising of Rs. 98,08,91,9521- ftom the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India as the Central Share and Rs. 10,89,87,995/- from Government of Meghalaya as the Equivalent State Share.
Beneficiaries Paid: A total of 49,628 beneficiaries have already been paid their scholarships. . First Installment, total firnd received = Rs 42,32,13,280/- (central share: Rs 38,09,9r,952/- & State share = Rs 4,23,2I,328/-). Number of beneficiaries pai d = 17 ,364.
In the second Installment, total fund received = Rs 66,66,66,6671 (Central share = Rs 60,00,00,000/- & State share = Rs 6,66,66,667/-). Number of beneficiaries paid = 32,064. The pending Payments, the remaining 27,127 beneficiaries will be paid once the third instaliment of funds is received from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. .
Third Installment, the Department is in the process of actively pursuing with Government of India for the release of the Third installment.
